Setting Up Layouts

Every item using V7 Slots will automatically have access to Layouts. To upload files into Slots, please check out our Slots guide HERE.

Setting Your Default Layout

After uploading into Slots, you can establish your default layout using the Set Layouts API.

Any modifications made to the default layout are only visible to you and won't be retained. In the event of a page refresh or navigating away and returning, the layout will seamlessly revert to your originally specified default.

Hence, it's advisable to tailor your default view to suit the most useful and commonly preferred way for viewing your data.

📘

You can change your default layout after the initial upload using Set Layouts. You do not need to define your layout at upload.

Using Layouts

Here are some handy tips to get you started with Layouts!

Using the Layout Selector

Our Layout Selector now allows you to create custom layouts, accommodating up to 8 columns OR 4 rows for a max of 16 files (e.g. 8x2, 4x4). This feature provides enhanced flexibility for organizing and viewing your content according to your specific requirements.

Dragging and Dropping into the Layout

You now have the ability to effortlessly arrange files in your custom layout. Simply drag and drop files from the carousel located at the bottom of the page.

📘

Each file can only be displayed in one slot at any given time.

If you drag a file into a second slot, it will automatically be moved from the first slot to the second, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience.

Full-screen Mode

Enhance your viewing experience by clicking the button in the upper right-hand corner of any slot to switch to full-screen mode. This feature allows for focused, detailed interaction with the content. You can also drag items from the carousel into a full-screen slot for convenience. To return to the regular view and update the slot's content, simply minimize the full-screen mode using the same button.

Hiding the Carousel

To maximize your workspace, you have the option to hide Files, Timeline (if applicable), and Gallery.
